Є люди, які змінюють світ гучними заявами. А є ті, хто змінює його щоденною працею. Без зайвих слів. Без потреби бути в центрі уваги. Саме до таких належить Тетяна Семикоп — голова правління громадського руху «Віра, Надія, Любов», яка вже тридцять років присвячує своє життя захисту людей, що опинилися у складних життєвих обставинах.
Сьогодні діяльність організації добре знають не лише в Одеській області, а й далеко за її межами. За три десятиліття вона стала однією з найавторитетніших громадських інституцій України у сферах протидії торгівлі людьми, профілактики ВІЛ, захисту жінок і дітей, розвитку громад та впровадження міжнародних соціальних програм.
Однак сама Тетяна Семикоп про свої досягнення говорить стримано. Для неї найцінніше — це не кількість реалізованих проєктів чи залучених грантів, а конкретні людські історії.
Повномасштабна війна докорінно змінила діяльність організації. Якщо у 2022–2023 роках головним напрямом стала гуманітарна допомога постраждалим, внутрішньо переміщеним особам і родинам із дітьми, то згодом команда перейшла до більш комплексної моделі підтримки.
Сьогодні фахівці організації щотижня працюють у громадах Одеської, Миколаївської та Херсонської областей, особливу увагу приділяючи віддаленим населеним пунктам, де люди часто позбавлені доступу до якісних соціальних, психологічних та юридичних послуг.
Робота починається з довіри. Людина отримує консультацію юриста, підтримку психолога, інформацію про свої права та можливості. Але на цьому допомога не завершується. Якщо виникає потреба, спеціалісти супроводжують людину доти, доки вона не зможе самостійно вирішувати власні питання.
Особливий акцент сьогодні робиться на підтримці жінок і дітей, які постраждали від домашнього та гендерно зумовленого насильства, а також сексуального насильства, пов’язаного з війною. У кожному випадку команда працює індивідуально, допомагаючи не лише отримати необхідний статус чи державну підтримку, а й повернути людині відчуття безпеки та гідності.
Втім, гуманітарна допомога для Тетяни Семикоп ніколи не була кінцевою метою.
«Ми не можемо безкінечно підтримувати людей лише гуманітарною допомогою. Найважливіше — допомогти їм знову стати самостійними, навчитися заробляти, відчути власну силу», — переконана вона.
Саме тому одним із найуспішніших напрямів стали програми самозайнятості.
За підтримки міжнародних партнерів десятки жінок у громадах отримали можливість облаштувати власні теплиці, придбати насіння, саджанці, необхідне обладнання, пройти навчання у фахівців аграрної галузі та вже за кілька місяців представити результати своєї праці на місцевих ярмарках.
Не менш успішним став проєкт професійної підготовки для жінок, які прагнули працювати у готельно-ресторанній сфері. Навчання проводили практики індустрії, а після завершення курсу випускниці отримували реальну можливість працевлаштування у готелях-партнерах.
Саме так, переконана Тетяна Семикоп, повинні працювати сучасні соціальні програми: не формувати залежність від допомоги, а відкривати нові можливості.
Окремим напрямом, яким особливо пишається команда громадського руху «Віра, Надія, Любов», стало впровадження в Одеському регіоні принципів Резолюції Ради Безпеки ООН 1325 «Жінки, мир, безпека».
У 2022 році саме організація виступила ініціатором розроблення другого регіонального плану дій із виконання цієї резолюції, а нині вже підготовлено третій документ.
За кілька років навколо цієї роботи сформувалася потужна коаліція «1325 Одещина». Якщо на початку вона об’єднувала лише сім представниць громадських організацій, то сьогодні до неї входять уже 86 учасників, які беруть участь у формуванні місцевої політики, працюють із громадами, органами влади та сектором безпеки.
Ще один напрям, який Тетяна Семикоп послідовно розвиває, — екофемінізм. Вона була серед перших, хто почав публічно говорити про відповідальність жінок за екологічне майбутнє громад. Сьогодні ця тема вже активно обговорюється в Україні, а започатковані організацією ініціативи допомагають жінкам ставати рушійною силою екологічних змін.
Попри масштаб реалізованих програм, Тетяна Семикоп майже не говорить про власні заслуги.
За її словами, підрахувати результати тридцятирічної роботи лише цифрами практично неможливо. За кожною консультацією, кожним проєктом чи наданою гуманітарною допомогою стоїть окрема людська доля.
Комусь потрібен юридичний супровід. Комусь — психологічна підтримка. Комусь — теплий одяг. А комусь — інструменти, щоб знову працювати і забезпечувати свою родину.
Саме в цьому, переконана вона, і полягає справжня соціальна робота — не вирішувати за людину, а допомогти їй повернути контроль над власним життям.
Попереду — нові виклики.
Найбільше сьогодні Тетяну Семикоп хвилює майбутнє українських дітей. Вона переконана, що тривале дистанційне навчання, вимушене переселення та наслідки війни вже зараз створюють серйозні освітні втрати, які можуть позначитися на цілому поколінні.
Саме тому серед її найближчих планів — створення програми додаткового офлайн-навчання для дітей із залученням досвідчених педагогів, зокрема вчителів-пенсіонерів та педагогів із числа внутрішньо переміщених осіб.
Адже, на її переконання, відбудова України починається не лише з відновлення міст чи інфраструктури.
Вона починається з дітей.
Тридцять років тому громадський рух «Віра, Надія, Любов» розпочав свою діяльність із невеликої команди однодумців. Сьогодні це потужна громадська інституція, що реалізує міжнародні програми, формує регіональну політику, підтримує громади та щороку допомагає тисячам людей.
І, мабуть, найголовніше досягнення Тетяни Семикоп полягає навіть не в кількості реалізованих проєктів.
А в тому, що вже три десятиліття вона доводить просту істину: справжня допомога — це не лише підтримати людину в найважчий момент її життя. Це допомогти їй знову повірити у власні сили, повернути гідність і впевненість у завтрашньому дні.
TETIANA SEMYKOP: “REAL HELP IS NOT JUST SUPPORTING A PERSON IN DIFFICULTY, BUT ALSO HELPING THEM TO BELIEVE IN THEIR OWN STRENGTHS AGAIN”
There are people who change the world with loud statements. And there are those who change it with their daily work – without unnecessary words; without the need to be the centre of attention. Tetiana Semykop, the head of the board of the public movement “Faith, Hope, Love”, who has dedicated thirty years of her life to protecting people in difficult life circumstances, is one of them.
Today, the organization’s activities are well known not only in the Odessa region, but also far beyond its borders. Over the past three decades, it has become one of the most authoritative public institutions in Ukraine in the areas of combating human trafficking, HIV prevention, protecting women and children, community development, and implementing international social programs.
However, Tetiana Semykop herself speaks of her achievements with restraint. For her, the most valuable thing is not the number of projects implemented or grants attracted, but specific human stories.
The full-scale war radically changed the organisation’s activities. If in 2022–2023 the main direction was humanitarian assistance to victims, internally displaced persons and families with children, then later the team switched to a more comprehensive model of support.
Today, the organisation’s specialists work weekly in communities in Odessa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions, paying special attention to remote settlements where people often lack access to quality social, psychological, and legal services.
The work begins with trust. A person receives legal advice, psychological support, and information about their rights and opportunities. But the help doesn’t end there. If necessary, specialists accompany a person until they can solve their own problems on their own.
Today, a special emphasis is placed on supporting women and children who have suffered from domestic and gender-based violence, as well as sexual violence related to war. In each case, the team works individually, helping not only to obtain the necessary status or state support, but also to restore the person’s sense of security and dignity.
However, humanitarian aid has never been the ultimate goal for Tetiana Semykop.
“We cannot endlessly support people with humanitarian aid only. The most important thing is to help them become independent again, learn to earn money, and feel their own strength,” she is convinced.
That is why self-employment programs have become one of the most successful areas.
With the support of international partners, dozens of women in communities were able to set up their own greenhouses, purchase seeds, seedlings, and necessary equipment, receive training from agricultural experts, and within a few months, present the results of their work at local fairs.
No less successful was the vocational training project for women who wanted to work in the hotel and restaurant sector. The training was conducted by industry practitioners, and after completing the course, graduates received a real opportunity to find employment in partner hotels.
This is exactly how modern social programs should work, Tetiana Semykop is convinced: not to create dependence on assistance, but to open up new opportunities.
A separate direction that the team of the public movement “Faith, Hope, Love” is particularly proud of is the implementation of the principles of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace, Security” in the Odessa region.
In 2022, the the team of the movement initiated the development of the second regional action plan to implement this resolution, and now the third document has been prepared.
Over the past few years, a powerful coalition “1325 Odeschyna” has formed around this work. If at first it united only seven representatives of public organisations, today it already includes 86 participants who participate in shaping local policy, work with communities, authorities, and the security sector.
Another direction that Tetiana Semykop consistently develops is ecofeminism. She was among the first to publicly speak about women’s responsibility for the ecological future of communities. Today, this topic is already being actively discussed in Ukraine, and the initiatives launched by the organisation help women become the driving force of environmental change.
Despite the scale of the implemented programs, Tetiana Semykop almost never talks about her own achievements.
According to her, it is practically impossible to calculate the results of thirty years of work only in numbers. It is a separate human fate that lies behind each consultation, each project or humanitarian aid provided.
Some need legal support. Some need psychological support. Some need warm clothes. And some need tools to work again and provide for their families.
She is convinced that this is what real social work is all about – not making decisions for people, but helping them regain control of their own lives.
New challenges lie ahead.
Tetiana Semykop is most concerned about the future of Ukrainian children today. She is convinced that long-term distance learning, forced displacement, and the consequences of war are already creating serious educational losses that could affect an entire generation.
That is why her immediate plans include creating a program of additional offline learning for children with the involvement of experienced teachers, including retired teachers and teachers from among internally displaced persons.
After all, in her opinion, the reconstruction of Ukraine does not only begin with the restoration of cities or infrastructure.
It begins with children.
Thirty years ago, the public movement “Faith, Hope, Love” began its activities with a small team of like-minded people. Today it is a powerful public institution that implements international programs, shapes regional policy, supports communities and helps thousands of people every year.
And, perhaps, the most important achievement of Tetiana Semykop is not even in the number of implemented projects.
But in the fact that for three decades she has been proving a simple truth: real help is not only supporting a person in the most difficult moment of their life. It is helping them to believe in their own strength again, to regain dignity and confidence in the future.
