– Пані Ірино, що стало визначальним у Вашому виборі професії юриста?
– Змалку мене приваблювала справедливість як поняття. Я бачила, наскільки важливо, щоб кожна людина мала право на захист і рівні можливості. Тому вибір юриспруденції став для мене не просто професійним рішенням, а покликанням.
– Сьогодні Ви працюєте у сфері міжнародного права. Які головні виклики постають перед юристами, що представляють клієнтів на міжнародному рівні?
– Найбільший виклик – це різноманіття правових систем і культурних контекстів. Потрібно орієнтуватися не лише у нормах права, але й у менталітеті, традиціях, етичних стандартах. Успіх приходить тоді, коли ти вмієш поєднати міжнародні стандарти з конкретними потребами людини чи компанії.
– Ви кандидат юридичних наук. Як поєднуєте наукову діяльність із практикою?
– Для мене наука – це фундамент, а практика – жива матерія, яка постійно змінюється. Наукова робота вчить мислити системно, аналізувати глибше, а практика дозволяє втілювати ці знання у реальних справах. Це поєднання робить роботу більш якісною.
– Ви є членом-кореспондентом Академії політичних наук України. Яке місце, на Вашу думку, займає право у розвитку держави та суспільства?
– Право – це інструмент, який формує цивілізоване суспільство. Без нього неможливі демократія, рівність і справедливість. Саме право задає рамки, в яких може існувати і розвиватися держава, і саме юристи мають бути тими, хто захищає ці рамки.
– Чим, на Вашу думку, українські юристи відрізняються на світовій арені?
– Насамперед гнучкістю та здатністю працювати у кризових умовах. Українські юристи звикли вирішувати складні задачі у швидкозмінних реаліях. Це робить нас конкурентоспроможними і на міжнародному рівні.
– Ви активно працюєте у непростий для країни час. Що мотивує Вас залишатися в професії та підтримувати розвиток правничої справи в Україні?
– Мене мотивує відповідальність перед клієнтами та перед країною. Я вірю, що кожна справа, кожен успішно захищений інтерес людини чи компанії – це внесок у формування правової культури. Ми маємо залишатися у професії, щоб допомагати Україні ставати сильнішою.
– Ваша професійна і громадська діяльність робить Вас прикладом для багатьох. Яким Ви бачите майбутнє української юридичної спільноти?
– Я бачу її більш відкритою до світу, інтегрованою у міжнародний простір, але водночас вірною своїм цінностям. Молоді юристи вже мислять глобально, і це дає великий шанс для України заявити про себе як про країну з потужним правовим потенціалом.
– Ваше життєве кредо?
– Любити життя, завжди залишатися вірною принципам справедливості й допомагати людям там, де це найбільше потрібно. Для мене важливо бути прикладом і як професіонал, і як людина.

– Ms. Odintsova, what was the decisive factor in your choice of the legal profession?
– From an early age, I was drawn to the very idea of justice. I understood how important it is for every individual to have the right to protection and equal opportunities. For me, choosing law was not just a professional decision, but a true calling.
– Today, you work in the field of international law. What are the main challenges facing lawyers representing clients at the international level?
– The greatest challenge is the diversity of legal systems and cultural contexts. One must navigate not only legal frameworks but also mentalities, traditions, and ethical standards. Success comes when you are able to combine international standards with the specific needs of an individual or a company.
– You hold a PhD in Law. How do you combine academic research with legal practice?
– For me, research provides the foundation, while practice is a living, ever-changing substance. Academic work teaches systematic thinking and deeper analysis, while practice allows me to apply this knowledge in real cases. This combination makes my work more meaningful and effective.
– You are a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Political Sciences of Ukraine. In your opinion, what role does law play in the development of the state and society?
– Law is the very instrument that shapes a civilized society. Without it, democracy, equality, and justice cannot exist. It is law that sets the framework within which a state can function and evolve — and it is lawyers who must protect these boundaries.
– In your view, what distinguishes Ukrainian lawyers on the global stage?
– First and foremost, flexibility and the ability to work under crisis conditions. Ukrainian lawyers are accustomed to solving complex challenges in rapidly changing realities. This makes us competitive at the international level.
– You are actively working during a very challenging time for the country. What motivates you to stay in the profession and continue supporting the development of the legal field in Ukraine?
– I am motivated by a sense of responsibility — both to my clients and to my country. I believe that every case, every successfully defended interest of a person or a company, is a contribution to building a strong legal culture. We must remain in the profession to help Ukraine grow stronger.
– Your professional and civic activities make you a role model for many. How do you see the future of the Ukrainian legal community?
– I see it as more open to the world, more integrated into the international legal space, yet faithful to its values. Young lawyers already think globally, and this gives Ukraine a tremendous opportunity to establish itself as a country with strong legal potential.
– What is your life credo?
– To love life, to always remain true to the principles of justice, and to help people where it is most needed. For me, it is important to be an example both as a professional and as a human being.
