Саме з таким баченням Lviv British School започаткувала соціальну освітню програму Supporting Children of Ukrainian Heroes — ініціативу, спрямовану на підтримку дітей загиблих українських захисників, дітей ветеранів війни та дітей осіб з інвалідністю внаслідок війни через надання доступу до міжнародної освіти.
У школі переконані: діти людей, які захищали свободу України та віддали за неї найдорожче, повинні мати можливість навчатися у середовищі, що відкриває перспективи, формує сучасне мислення та створює умови для реалізації майбутнього.
Програма передбачає стипендіальну підтримку із загальною вартістю до 15 000 доларів США на рік для одного учня та створює комплексне середовище для навчання, розвитку й адаптації дитини. Це не лише доступ до навчання за українською та британською освітніми програмами, а й можливість зростати у безпечному просторі, де поєднані академічна якість, підтримка та розвиток особистості.
Учасники програми навчаються у форматі повного навчального дня, забезпечуються шкільною формою, повноцінним п’ятиразовим харчуванням, а учні з інших міст – проживанням. Важливою частиною програми є участь у гуртках, освітніх і розвиткових заходах, психологічний супровід та індивідуальна підтримка, що допомагає дітям відновлювати внутрішню опору, відкривати власний потенціал і впевнено будувати майбутнє.
Окремий акцент зроблено на розширенні світогляду через екскурсії, практичний досвід та освітні поїздки за кордон, які дозволяють дітям побачити більше можливостей, познайомитися з міжнародним середовищем та відчути себе частиною глобального світу.

Участь у програмі можуть брати діти від 1 до 11 класу. Відбір здійснюється у співпраці з державними установами, збройними силами України та профільними організаціями, а фінальним етапом є академічне тестування, що дозволяє визначити готовність учня до навчання у міжнародному середовищі.
Програма Supporting Children of Ukrainian Heroes — це не лише про освіту. Це про відповідальність перед майбутнім, про вдячність тим, хто захищав країну, та про створення можливостей для дітей, які мають отримати шанс реалізувати свій потенціал незалежно від життєвих обставин.

Supporting Children of Ukrainian Heroes: Education as an Investment in the Future of the Country

During wartime, supporting the families of Ukrainian defenders goes far beyond humanitarian assistance. One of the most meaningful contributions to the future is providing the children of heroes with access to quality education, personal development, and an environment that helps them unlock their potential and build confidence in themselves.

With this vision in mind, Lviv British School launched the social educational initiative Supporting Children of Ukrainian Heroes — a program designed to support the children of fallen Ukrainian defenders, war veterans, and individuals who acquired disabilities as a result of the war by providing access to international education.
The school firmly believes that the children of those who defended Ukraine’s freedom and made the ultimate sacrifice deserve the opportunity to study in an environment that opens new horizons, fosters modern thinking, and creates the conditions necessary for a successful future.
The program provides scholarship support worth up to USD 15,000 per student annually and creates a comprehensive environment for learning, development, and adaptation. It offers not only access to both Ukrainian and British educational programs, but also the opportunity to grow in a safe and supportive environment where academic excellence, personal development, and care go hand in hand.
Participants study in a full-day educational format and are provided with school uniforms and nutritious five-meal daily nutrition. Students from other cities are also provided with accommodation. An important part of the program includes participation in clubs, educational and developmental activities, psychological support, and individualized guidance that help children regain emotional stability, discover their strengths, and confidently build their future.
Special emphasis is placed on broadening horizons through excursions, hands-on experiences, and international educational trips. These opportunities allow children to explore new possibilities, engage with international environments, and see themselves as part of a global community.
A distinctive feature of the educational model at Lviv British School is its focus on developing future leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers. The school believes that the younger generation will become the driving force behind Ukraine’s economic and social recovery.
Therefore, alongside traditional academic education, students are introduced to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, work on their own projects, develop leadership skills, gain teamwork experience, and learn how to transform ideas into real initiatives. To achieve this, the school brings together students, educators, public officials, politicians, entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives of the professional community.
To date, more than 40 sponsors have joined the initiative supporting the children of fallen heroes, and over 50 children have already received the opportunity to study within the program. This demonstrates that cooperation between responsible businesses, philanthropists, and educational institutions can create meaningful and lasting change.
The program is open to students from Grades 1 through 11. Candidate selection is carried out in cooperation with government institutions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and specialized organizations. The final stage involves academic assessment to determine a student’s readiness to study in an international educational environment.
